This is Creme Brulee, a dessert from France.
It is a yummy yet easy to prepare dessert.
Ingredients
makes 4 servings
6 egg yolks (room temperature)
100g sugar
7g vanilla extract
500g whipping cream
60g sugar (for caramelizing the top)
Steps
- Preheat oven 150C.
- In a large bowl, whisk egg yolks, sugar and vanilla together until thick and creamy.
- Pour the cream into saucepan and heat until slight boil at the edge and remove from heat.
- Pour the cream a little at a time into the egg yolk mixture and keep stirring well.
- After the cream and egg yolk mixture well combine, pour it evenly into ramekins.
- Arrange ramekins on a oven tray and pour hot water on the tray.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Remove ramekins from hot water and let it cool down at room temperature.
- Once it is cool down, put in fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Before serve, spread some sugar on top of ramekin and use torch to melt the sugar in order to create a crispy crust.
- Let it set for 5 minutes before serve.
